When shopping for organic produce, it is practical to look for the Non-GMO Project seal of approval, to know that what you are buying is free from genetically modified crops and/or soils. That is because 90-95% of the soy, corn and canola grown in the U.S. is genetically-modified, and the likelihood they have contaminated their non-GMO counterparts is extremely high. Now potatoes have been place under the Non-GMO Project's microscope to determine if there is contamination among organic crops.
